Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets the rules for using WAGate. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Because WAGate runs on the WhatsApp Cloud API, your use must also comply with Meta's and WhatsApp's policies — and we are required to pass those rules on to you.

In short: only message people who agreed to hear from you, send what you said you'd send, stop when they ask, and don't abuse the platform. Violations can get your number and account restricted by Meta — and suspended by us.

1. Comply with WhatsApp & Meta policies

You must comply with all applicable Meta and WhatsApp policies, including the:

If any of those policies are stricter than this AUP, the stricter rule applies.

2. Consent & opt-out

Obtain clear opt-in/consent from each recipient before sending WhatsApp messages, and keep records of that consent.
Make it easy to opt out, and honor opt-out and "stop" requests promptly.
Only message phone numbers you are authorized to contact.
Use message templates only for their approved category and content.

3. Prohibited content & uses

You may not use the Service to send, store, or promote:

Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, or deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading content (including phishing and scams).
Illegal goods or services, or anything prohibited by the WhatsApp Commerce Policy (e.g. drugs, weapons, adult content, gambling where restricted).
Hateful, harassing, threatening, or violent content; content that exploits or endangers minors.
Malware, or content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
Sensitive personal data sent unlawfully or without a proper basis.
Impersonation of any person or brand, or false representation of your identity.

4. Prohibited technical conduct

No probing, scanning, or circumventing the security of the Service or other accounts.
No scraping, excessive automated requests, or attempts to exceed or evade rate limits and quotas.
No reverse-engineering, reselling, or providing the Service to third parties except as permitted.
No interference with the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service or Meta's APIs.
No sharing of credentials or access tokens with unauthorized parties.

5. AI features

If you enable AI features, you remain responsible for the messages they generate and send. Don't use AI features to produce content that would violate this AUP, and disclose AI use to your end-customers where required by law.

6. Quality & deliverability

Meta assigns quality ratings and messaging limits to WhatsApp numbers based on user feedback and behavior. Poor practices (high block/report rates) can degrade your rating or get your number restricted by Meta. Maintaining good quality is your responsibility.

7. Enforcement

If we believe you have violated this AUP, we may — with or without notice, depending on severity — warn you, throttle or disable features, remove content, suspend or terminate your account, and report violations to Meta or to authorities. We may act to comply with Meta's requirements or legal obligations. Serious or repeated violations will result in termination without refund.
